We’re book worms. Statistics nerds. Dale Carnegie enthusiasts. And endlessly fascinated by human behavior and how it can be channeled to drive business outcomes.
Bryce and Isabel bring experience building teams and hiring for roles across many levels and functions at top public and venture-backed tech companies.
With experience at Nextdoor, HotelTonight, and Square we’ve built People programs at companies ranging in size from 2 employees to 12,000.
And, we’ve been in the weeds: hiring across tech and non-tech functions from new grad to VP, creating early leveling systems, performance management training, total rewards strategies, new hire onboarding, and employee engagement practices.
At GTP, our speciality is building great teams, whether you’re looking to join one, or you’re the one driving growth. Our practice supports:
Jobseekers: helping you tactically prepare for and land your next great job
Hiring teams: fractional HR strategy and execution for your company’s jobs to be done

Bryce is a People leader with a broad and unique background building teams. Her earliest experience in Talent was leading recruitment for her sorority at Washington University in St. Louis. A few years after graduating, she was hired as a recruiter at Nextdoor. She’ll tell you now that she largely learned on the job how to lead Talent at a growing company through mistakes, amazing mentors, and “kicks in the teeth.”
After a few years in the startup world, Bryce joined Block/Square in 2017 where she held roles of increasing scope. She was ultimately responsible for Talent Acquisition across Payments, Creative, and Core Platform Infrastructure. At Square, Bryce also served on the executive working group on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
In 2021, Bryce left Square for a “dream job” as Head of Talent at a venture capital firm. The experience informed the hypothesis that sparked Great Team Partners: that all too often at early-stage companies, People challenges precede People executives. She saw an opportunity to make a bigger impact by partnering with a range of leaders in helping them build great teams.
Bryce is based in Bernal Heights, SF, with her husband Chris, daughter Jacqueline (7), son Barrett (5), and their cat Milo (9).

Isabel is a natural People person with spikes in organizational strategy, team management, and building partnerships. Her first experience with recruiting was as employee #17 at a lean San Francisco startup. She was responsible for full cycle technical recruiting, but also planning happy hours, establishing onboarding procedures, and just about every other People-oriented task.
After that startup was acquired, Isabel joined Connery Consulting where she worked as a technical recruiter with companies ranging from 5 to 500+ employees. The role became a testing ground as she helped early-stage startups establish their recruiting process from scratch and honed her agility as a plug-and-play recruiter.
In 2018, Isabel joined Square to support Engineering Leadership recruitment, and she was soon responsible for all Engineering Management talent acquisition. Over the course of 4+ years, Isabel partnered with senior stakeholders on their organizational strategy, rehauled the way Square hires EMs, and ultimately managed a team of senior technical recruiters.
Isabel lives in Brooklyn with her husband Ozzy, their toddler Kal, and two very fluffy cats.
Principles behind our partnership:
-
And > Or
A or B. This or That. We believe that if you look closely, most choices are false binaries. We help you find options that get to the “and” of both “or”’s
-
Illogical > Insanity
Illogical: “Believing it is so even when it’s not so, so that it can be so.” - Emmanual Acho. Insanity: Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. We stand for bold goals and practice continuous improvement along the way.
-
Team > Individual
Two heads are better than one. Four eyes are better than two. We believe in aligning a united front in pursuit of a common goal.
-
Lid:Pot
Hires happen when there’s alignment between the “do” and the “become” of a job: what a person will do and who they become through the opportunity. There are right fits and wrong fits, and ultimately a lid to every pot.
